The Judicial Police, through the Criminal Investigation Department of Setúbal, arrested a 24-year-old man strongly suspected of committing a qualified homicide crime in Moita. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was struck several times with a kitchen knife, leaving him in a life-threatening condition.
The motive for the crime is believed to have been jealousy, according to the investigation. The severity of the injuries caused significant blood loss, which required the victim to undergo two blood transfusions.
The suspect was arrested by the PJ and brought before judicial authorities for a first hearing, where the applicable precautionary measures were determined. The case continues to be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department of Setúbal.
