Académico de Viseu claimed today their first victory in the 2026/27 edition of the Portuguese I Liga football championship, winning 1-0 away to Gil Vicente. The match was played at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos.
The only goal of the match came early, at four minutes of play. Brazilian João Guilherme was the scorer of the goal that put Viseu ahead and decided the match in favor of the visiting side.
With this victory, Académico de Viseu earns the first three points of the season, representing a positive start after what must have been a series of negative results in the first rounds of the championship.
