The Portuguese authorities ruled out the possibility of a migrant landing occurring on a beach in the municipality of Sesimbra, in the district of Setúbal. The information emerged after news was received about the presence of approximately 30 people who allegedly would have landed during the early morning.
The Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) and Maritime Police reported that, after conducting procedures at the scene, it was not possible to confirm any migrant landing on the beach in question.
The case was closely monitored by the competent authorities, who continued to monitor the situation in the coastal area of Sesimbra as a precautionary measure.
The security forces reiterated that, to date, there is no official confirmation that the landing actually took place, with the investigation ongoing to clarify the facts.
