Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), released for plenary analysis the Federal Police report that revealed messages exchanged between banker Daniel Vorcaro and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The decision on how the case will be conducted rests with the Court President, Edson Fachin, who is evaluating the next steps. Meanwhile, Moraes and Mendonça are working to gain support among their colleagues on the Court.
Mendonça had requested an opinion from the Attorney General's Office (PGR) and argued that the case should be analyzed by the Plenary. In his decision, the minister stated that, regardless of the PGR's response, the path of the records leads to the STF Plenary.
The Attorney General of Brazil, Paulo Gonet, who was mentioned in Vorcaro's messages, considered the PF report void. According to Gonet, the report was prepared without a prior request from the Federal Police or the Public Ministry, which would constitute an irregularity in the procedure.
