TAP: Government extends deadline until end of year to complete privatization

Açoriano Oriental6 September 2026 at 16:26

The Portuguese Government extended until the end of the year the deadline to conclude the TAP privatization. This extension allows an additional period of negotiations with the potential buyers interested in the airline.

The Executive reserved three weeks to conduct final negotiations with two major European airlines: Air France-KLM and Lufthansa. During this period, the final terms of a possible sale will be discussed.

The objective of these negotiations is for both companies to submit improved binding proposals, that is, definitive and obligatory offers with more favorable conditions than the previous ones. This marks a new phase in the privatization process of the Portuguese airline.

The Government of Mozambique will support 72,000 young people with vocational training scholarships and entrepreneurship initiatives through the "Acredita Emprega" program, presented by President Daniel Chapo in the district of Nicoadala, in Zambezia. From the applications submitted between March and May, 72,000 young people from 78 districts were selected, of which 70% are women. Approximately 14,400 young women will receive a non-reimbursable grant of 100,000 meticais (1,350 euros) to expand their businesses, accompanied by mentorship and specialized training. Zambezia is the province with the most beneficiaries, concentrating 23% of the national total. Chapo emphasized that the program aims to address youth employment challenges, marked by the informal economy and the weak link between training and the labor market, being implemented by the Ministry of Youth in partnership with the World Bank.

Has your car reached 100,000 km? Experts warn that this is what you need to do to avoid future problems

When a car reaches 100,000 kilometers, it is important to perform a complete inspection to avoid future problems, although there is no universal maintenance plan. Bosch Car Service Portugal recommends checking the timing belt (usually replaced between 60 and 100 thousand km), suspension and brakes, fluids and filters, and the battery, whose lifespan depends more on the vehicle's age than on the kilometers driven. The most important thing is to consult the maintenance history and follow the manufacturer's plan, as timely intervention can prevent more expensive repairs.
