Government extends deadline until end of year to complete privatization

The Portuguese Government extended until the end of the year the deadline to conclude the privatization of TAP. The decision was announced by the Minister of the Presidency, Leitão Amaro, on Friday.

The Executive will begin final negotiations with the two candidates who submitted binding offers to purchase 44.9% of the airline.

The two competitors are Air France-KLM, of Franco-Dutch origin, and Lufthansa, from Germany.

The negotiations aim to finalize the sale of a significant stake in TAP, in a process that will now have more time to be concluded.

STAS and APROSE agree on salary increases up to 8.46% in 2026

The Union of Insurance Activity Workers (STAS) and the National Association of Insurance Agents and Brokers (APROSE) reached an agreement for the revision of the Collective Labor Agreement in the insurance distribution sector for 2026, with increases in minimum remuneration between 2.62% and 8.46%, with retroactive effects from January 1st. The new salary table establishes minimums ranging between 955 euros (Band G, with the highest increase of 8.46%) and 2,550 euros (Band A), representing a direct monthly gain across all professional categories. The meal allowance rises to 10 euros per day and the full daily allowance for service travel in Portugal increases to 75.41 euros.
