The Municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa met with Águas do Norte to evaluate the progress of several projects considered strategic for the future of the municipality, particularly regarding the management and availability of water resources.

Among the topics discussed was the possible increase in capacity of the Ranhados Dam, with the aim of strengthening water availability and the resilience of the territory, as well as the future of the Pocinho Water Treatment Station.

The meeting also served to analyze the results of the pilot project developed in Vale de Cavalos, which tested the reuse of treated water for agricultural purposes, and to evaluate the creation of new water retention structures intended to support agricultural activity.

The meeting aimed to continue the coordination between the municipality and Águas do Norte in seeking solutions for water management, a sector considered essential for agriculture, quality of life, and the development of Vila Nova de Foz Côa.
