The Government of Cape Verde decreed two days of national mourning following an accident involving a bus carrying children. The decision was made after the incident occurred, which involved minors on board the vehicle.
Among the measures already adopted by the Cape Verdean executive is the creation of a crisis cabinet to coordinate the response to the accident and manage the emergency situation.
The Government also sent to the affected island a medical team composed of 16 doctors, with the aim of providing assistance to the victims of the accident.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation and implement response measures to the tragedy that prompted the national mourning in the country.
