The Cavalry Regiment No. 3 (RC3) opened its doors to the community on September 4th and 5th, in an initiative marked by tradition, heritage, culture, and fellowship. The highlight was the traditional Horse March from Elvas to Estremoz, which took place on Friday, September 4th, with riders departing from Elvas toward Estremoz, crossing the Alentejo landscapes and passing through Vila Viçosa, where the usual ceremonial presentations took place.

On Saturday, September 5th, the Classic Cars and Vintage Motorcycles Tour brought pieces of automotive history to the Alentejo. The activities aimed simultaneously to preserve the history and project the future of RC3, strengthening the connection between the military institution and the community.

The Commander of RC3, Cavalry Colonel Luís Pimenta, stated that the march is about "honouring the past," underscoring that Estremoz is "the regiment's home for 151 years." The Commander stated that RC3 is a "regiment with open doors to the community" and that, while preserving memory, it also looks to the future, considering that the regiment is about to turn 319 years old.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Estremoz, José Daniel Sádio, highlighted the importance of RC3's presence in the city, stating that "the city and RC3 merge." The mayor also highlighted the healthy partnership between the various local stakeholders and the associative movement.
