NotíciasdeAveiro.pt6 September 2026 at 14:06

The University of Aveiro received a delegation from Zhejiang University, China, with the aim of deepening inter-institutional relations between the two institutions, which have maintained cooperation for approximately 40 years. The visit took place over two days, on September 2 and 3, and aimed to strengthen the work developed in the area of Advanced Materials, a domain considered highly strategic both nationally and internationally.

The Chinese delegation was composed of Jian Ji, director of the Sino-Portugal Joint Laboratory "the Belt and Road" in Advanced Materials and professor of the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science, and Youxiang Wang, professor of the same department. The two representatives visited various laboratories and departments at the University of Aveiro during their stay.

The deepening of this cooperation is part of the context of relations between Portugal and China under the initiative "the Belt and Road" (Belt and Road), which promotes international collaboration in strategic areas such as research in advanced materials. The University of Aveiro and Zhejiang University thus seek to strengthen their long-standing partnership, focusing on a scientific domain of great relevance for the technological development of both countries.
