The Judicial Police arrested in Moita a 24-year-old man suspected of having attempted to kill his partner in the early hours of Friday. The investigation was carried out by the PJ's Southern Directorate.
According to the PJ statement, the suspect acted "motivated by jealousy" and used a kitchen knife to strike "multiple blows to the victim's body." The attack caused "various injuries" to the partner.
The man was arrested outside of flagrante delicto and was brought before the Judicial Court of Moita, where he was subjected to coercion measures.
