Eight professors reported workplace harassment at Técnico. IGEC proposed a reprimand, but the president dismissed the case

Eight professors filed a workplace harassment complaint against a full professor at Instituto Superior Técnico. The complaint led to the opening of a disciplinary process against the professor.

The Inspecção-Geral da Educação e Ciência, the entity responsible for monitoring and inspection in the education sector, analyzed the case and proposed a written reprimand for the professor accused.

However, the president of Instituto Superior Técnico decided to dismiss the disciplinary process, thus not applying the sanction recommended by IGEC. This decision generated controversy for going against the proposal of the inspection entity.
