The author states that he will stop voting for the JPP, accusing it of acting in a manner identical to the PSD, and threatens that he will probably stay home on election day.
The resident denounces the transformation of the residential area of Figueirinhas into an industrial zone with large warehouses. According to the author, there is a two-tempo process: first, affordable housing solutions are created for the working class, and then the area serves the interests of Mr. Sousa, an entrepreneur seeking cheap land to build warehouses. The author alleges that the council imposes many requirements on those wanting to build homes, but these rules disappear when it comes to Mr. Sousa's warehouses.
The author sharply criticizes what he considers to be a duality of criteria on the part of the JPP at CMSC. He mentions that Mr. Sousa has expanded his domain by purchasing two logistics companies and will add another warehouse to his portfolio. The author accuses the JPP of protecting the investor, expanding monopolies, and speaking nicely to the people while serving big business interests, comparing the party to PSD and CDS.
The author concludes that the JPP, which governs with dormitory zones of Funchal, will have done Mr. Sousa a favor, and that while nothing is denied to big interests, everything is denied to working-class Madeirans. He argues that it is necessary to question where the monopolies are and to analyze whether IMI yields more than the levies that keep being forgiven.
