IPMA extends alert to 17 districts. Heat doesn't come alone

IPMA extended this afternoon the bad weather warning to three more districts, bringing to 17 the number of districts under alert. The warning remains active until 9:00 PM today.

In ten areas of the country, the weather forecast includes thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and wind gusts that can reach 90 km/h. The heat, which has been the main concern in recent weeks, doesn't come alone at this stage.

The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere is the entity responsible for this warning update, which affects the general territory of mainland Portugal.
