Fire that broke out on Saturday in Serra d'Ossa in resolution phase

A fire broke out on Saturday in Serra d'Ossa, in Estremoz, district of Évora, and spread to the neighbouring municipality of Redondo. The alert was given at 19:40 and the flames consumed an area of scrubland, pine trees and eucalyptus, the extent of which is still to be determined. The fire entered the resolution phase at 06:50 on Sunday, according to a source from the Sub-Regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection of Central Alentejo.

There are no victims to report. At 09:00 on Sunday, around 278 operatives continued to combat the fire, supported by 99 vehicles and one aerial asset.

A second fire broke out in Ervideira, in the municipality of Ponte de Sor, district of Portalegre, at 22:36 on Saturday. This fire in forest stand was also already in the resolution phase since 04:15 on Sunday, according to the Sub-Regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection of Upper Alentejo. At 09:00, it mobilised 110 operatives, 34 vehicles and three aerial assets.
