The Volunteer Firefighters of Mangualde are ensuring, between September 3rd and 7th, logistics support for GRUATA Beiras and Serra da Estrela, which is in operational pre-positioning due to the Special Readiness State – Level II. Through the Mangualde Logistics Support Base (BAL), the corporation guarantees all necessary conditions for the personnel to carry out their duties during this special readiness period.

State of Pernambuco ordered to pay R$ 150 thousand to young man wrongfully imprisoned

The State of Pernambuco was ordered to pay R$ 150 thousand in moral damages to Anderson Gabriel da Silva, 25 years old, who was wrongfully imprisoned for nine months. The young man was detained in January 2025 during a police stop at Boa Viagem Beach, in Recife, under a preventive arrest warrant issued for another person with the same name, suspected of a homicide that occurred in 2023. Anderson tried to prove his innocence to the police chief, but was ignored and sent to the Criminological Screening and Observation Center (Cotrel), where he remained in the cellblock. The decision was made by Judge Flávia Fabiane Nascimento Figueira, from the Court of Justice of Pernambuco.
