A British digital content creator joined restaurants on the Costa da Caparica to promote the candidacy of xávega art, a type of artisanal fishing typical of this region of the country, to UNESCO intangible heritage.
The dinner held followed the 'sea to table' concept and featured the participation of several establishments on the Costa da Caparica. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the tradition of xávega art and the importance of its preservation.
Xávega art is an artisanal fishing method characteristic of the Almada coastal region, practiced for generations by local fishing communities. Its candidacy to UNESCO intangible heritage aims to recognize and protect this traditional practice.
The collaboration between the international content creator and local restaurants aimed to spread this tradition to a broader audience, highlighting the connection between artisanal fishing and the region's gastronomy.
