The fire that broke out in Serra de Ossa, in Évora, continues in resolution phase, although authorities maintain an active surveillance operation. The situation occurs in a context of extreme heat affecting the Alentejo region.
The temperatures forecast for this Sunday in the Évora area should be around 37 degrees, which keeps authorities on alert given the high fire risk.
The firefighting operation includes one aerial unit and almost 300 personnel who remain deployed in Serra de Ossa to ensure the fire does not regain strength.
Authorities are asking the population to maintain increased caution during this period of intense heat, in order to avoid new fire outbreaks in the region.
