The weather conditions will change this Sunday in several regions of the country, after days of intense heat. The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts a drop in temperatures on the mainland, especially in the North and Centre, in the Porto region and on the coast. In Greater Lisbon, the decrease will be smaller. Suspended dust will continue to be present in mainland Portugal, including in the Lisbon and Porto regions.
In the Azores, the scenario will be more adverse. IPMA issued a yellow warning for the Western Group due to the possibility of heavy rain or strong showers accompanied by thunderstorms. Rain is expected, sometimes heavy during the early morning and beginning of the morning, returning during the night, with wind that may have gusts up to 50 km/h. In the Central and Eastern Groups, rain is expected during the early morning and morning, followed by showers.
