At least 25 people died in a bus accident in Cabo Verde. The vehicle was carrying children who were heading on a trip when it fell from a height of approximately 30 metres. Local authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. The death toll may still rise, as there are seriously injured victims. The accident occurred on a road on Santiago island, according to preliminary information. Emergency teams were mobilised to the scene to assist the victims. This is one of the deadliest accidents ever recorded in the Cape Verde archipelago.

Verride Bridge in Montemor-o-Velho closes for works for 11 days

The Verride bridge over the Mondego river, in Montemor-o-Velho, will close for 11 days for repair works of the damage caused by storm Kristin and the floods of January and February.
