Road traffic on the Verride bridge over the Mondego river, in the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho, will be closed for 11 days for repair works. The intervention runs between Monday and the 18th.

The municipal council reports that the works include the replacement of the six expansion joints of the bridge, as well as the milling and paving of adjacent areas. The work aims to repair the damage caused by storm Kristin and the floods of January and February.

The intervention is promoted by the municipality under a protocol with the Portuguese Environment Agency. The value of the work was not disclosed. During the works, traffic will be rerouted through alternative routes, duly signposted.

The closure will also cause changes to line 311 of public transport, which provides the connection between Montemor-o-Velho and Soure. The council recommends that users consult the temporary schedule and plan their journeys in advance.
