Man arrested in Loulé for smuggling of 4,300 litres of fuel

A 32-year-old man was arrested by the GNR in Loulé on suspicion of fuel smuggling. The arrest took place as part of a police operation aimed at combating illegal fuel trafficking.

Inside the vehicle driven by the suspect, 172 jerrycans containing fuel were found. In total, 4,300 litres of fuel were seized, which were to be smuggled.

The man was made a defendant and now faces legal proceedings related to the crime of fuel smuggling. Authorities continue to investigate possible connections to this illegal activity.
