The seventh edition of FAVA – Algarve Environment and Vegan Fair takes place between September 18 and 20, at the Municipal Park in Loulé, and expects to serve around five thousand plant-based meals over the three days. Created in 2018, this year's fair features over 100 exhibitors, 100 activities and 14 thousand square meters of venue, with free entry.
Organized by the Benfazer association, which presents it as the largest vegan fair in Portugal, the initiative returns with three days dedicated to sustainability, plant-based eating, conscious consumption and well-being. Throughout the event, more than 20 sectors will be represented, including agriculture, food, crafts, gardening, books and clothing.
In the dozens of gastronomic spaces present, francesinhas, hamburgers, pizzas, pastries, cakes, tarts and ice creams, among other plant-based dishes, will be served. The organization expects to surpass the 4,125 meals served at the previous edition, with over 30 food and beverage stalls.
The event also includes 17 theater, poetry, live music, dance and magic shows, showcookings, lectures with personalities linked to veganism, and activities such as pilates, yoga, capoeira and tai chi classes. The organization focuses on reduction, reuse and recycling, using compostable or reusable dishware and rejecting fuel-powered generators.
