Avenged Sevenfold closed the second night of Rock in Rio 2026, dedicated to heavy rock, with positive reviews from a predominantly young audience. The California band took the stage at 12:05 AM, after a 25-minute delay, amid initial concerns about the show.
Before the concert, about twenty people were on stage talking and gesturing, which seemed like a bad omen for the performance. The huge LED screen was stuck on a checkerboard image, possibly a screensaver, while the audience waited under threatening raindrops.
The festival later explained that the initial problems were caused by "technical adjustments." At 12:30 AM, after the prolonged wait, the screen went dark and the sound system began playing "Nightcall" by French DJ Kavinsky, finally marking the start of the band's performance.
