The Emmy Awards, considered the Oscar of American television, revealed on Saturday (5) the winners of the first part of its 2026 edition. Previously known as Creative Arts Emmys, this preview celebrates the best of documentaries, game shows, talk shows, special programs and technical work, preceding the big night dedicated to actors and actresses, which will take place on September 14.

One of the big winners of this 78th edition was Mariska Hargitay, internationally known as Olivia Benson in the series 'Law & Order: SVU'. The actress took home two statuettes for the documentary 'My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay' (titled 'Jayne Mansfield, My Mother' in Brazil), an HBO Max production that she herself directed.

The documentary tells the story of Mariska's controversial mother, Jayne Mansfield, a star of Hollywood's Golden Age who died when her daughter was only 3 years old. Mariska Hargitay will also be one of the presenters of the main Emmy on September 14. The article also briefly mentions the presence of Octavia Spencer, who received her first Emmy, however the section about her appears cut off in the article.
