Review: Machine Gun Kelly makes style mixing his trademark at Rock in Rio

Machine Gun Kelly, known as MGK, performed at Rock in Rio as the second artist on the Mundo Stage this Saturday (5), starting his show right on time after the rain that fell at the City of Rock. The 36-year-old singer, born Colson Baker in Cleveland, opened the presentation with the song "Fix ur face," from his first album "Lace Up" from 2012.

MGK is described as a "showbiz chameleon" who started his career as a rapper and, little by little, transitioned to pop punk and emo, making this mix of styles his trademark. He inherited the nickname from an American gangster from the 1930s.

On stage, the artist maintained his characteristic gothic and eccentric aesthetic, appearing shirtless with neon paint over blackout tattoos. During the show, he tried speaking Portuguese with the Brazilian audience, saying "vambora, porra!" before one of his songs.

The article also mentions his controversial temperament, including feuds with other artists such as Eminem, who is one of his references, as well as his ex-girlfriend, actress Megan Fox, with whom he has already had controversial episodes.
