From Metal Gear Solid to the Bring Me the Horizon anthem: the history of 'Shadow Moses'; understand

Before becoming one of the biggest anthems of Bring Me the Horizon, "Shadow Moses" was born at a moment of uncertainty for the English band. The group was coming off a break, had just signed with a major record label, and was preparing an album that would represent an important change in its trajectory. In the middle of this process, vocalist Oli Sykes decided to bring one of his passions into the music: the videogame Metal Gear Solid.

The title "Shadow Moses" is a direct reference to the fictional island where most of the story of the first Metal Gear Solid takes place, released for PlayStation in 1998. In the game, protagonist Solid Snake is sent to Shadow Moses Island, in Alaska, to prevent a nuclear threat and face the FOXHOUND special forces unit.
