The team of presidential candidate for Avante, Augusto Cury, denied the allegations that he had omitted information about business dealings in the United States from the Electoral Court. A report by Folha de S. Paulo revealed that, of the five companies he maintains in the North American country, three were not reported to the Electoral Court. The undeclared companies are Cury Academia Comportamental, Contemplare Investments, and Free Mind Publish.
Cury's defense informed CBN that the accounting team is already preparing a correction to clarify any discrepancies. In an official statement, it stated that the foreign stakes mentioned are negligible in relation to the candidate's assets and correspond to inactive companies or those without income. The statement also says that any occasional inconsistencies will be corrected in accordance with the law.
In third place in voting intention polls, the Avante candidate has declared assets of over R$ 242 million, which include farms, real estate, and stocks. The series of inconsistencies found in the candidate's financial disclosure was also highlighted by Folha de S. Paulo.
