The American band Avenged Sevenfold took the stage at Rock in Rio's Palco Mundo at 12:05 AM from Saturday to Sunday. The show was the closing act of the festival edition, gathering thousands of heavy metal fans at the event.

Approximately nine hours before the performance, fans were already crowding at the front row of the stage in search of a privileged view of the show. The wait was described as a challenge, but the passion for the group and the so-called "survival kits" helped the fans endure the long period until showtime.

Among the fans were physical therapist Letícia Rangel, 32 years old, and her fiancé, telecommunications technician Marcos Paulo Monteiro, 30 years old. She is passionate about the band and revealed that she "went crazy" when she learned they were coming to the festival. Marcos Paulo has been a fan of the group for over a decade and agreed to join the mission to watch the show as close as possible.

From Metal Gear Solid to the Bring Me the Horizon anthem: the history of 'Shadow Moses'; understand

The song "Shadow Moses" by Bring Me the Horizon, one of the English band's biggest anthems, was born from a moment of transition in the group's career, which was coming off a break, had just signed with a major record label, and was preparing an album that would represent an important change in its trajectory. The title is a direct reference to the fictional Alaska island where the story of the game Metal Gear Solid takes place, released for PlayStation in 1998, and came from vocalist Oli Sykes' passion for the videogame. The choice of the name, however, was not initially planned as a conceptual connection with the song's lyrics.
