The Portuguese government announced plans to significantly expand the sporting practice offerings for people with disabilities in the coming years. The intention was conveyed by the Secretary of State for Sport during a visit to the district of Coimbra.
The announcement occurred at the end of the first Young Paralympic Camp, an event that marks a pilot initiative in promoting sport among young people with disabilities. This activity represents an initial step in the government's strategy to expand access to adapted sport.
