The parliamentary group of Chega presented a censure motion against the Government. The PSD reacted to the criticisms through Hugo Soares, who considered the motion "completely disconnected from reality".
Hugo Soares pointed to the upgrade of Portugal's 'rating' by financial rating agency Fitch as an argument against Chega's motion. The social-democrat also accused André Ventura's party of only wanting to "appear on television" and of trying to "put Chega at the center of political debate".
The censure motion will be discussed in Parliament next Tuesday. This type of motion is a parliamentary instrument that allows the opposition to express its disagreement with the Government's actions.
