Pierre Gasly, French driver for the Alpine team, achieved his first 'pole position' in Formula 1 during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.
The driver achieved this feat in the 16th race of the season, becoming the first French driver to achieve a 'pole' since Formula 1 adopted the modern qualifying format.
Gasly beat all his competitors in the qualifying session, demonstrating exceptional performance throughout the timed lap.
This achievement represents an important milestone in the career of the 27-year-old driver, who had already shown talent by winning the Italian Grand Prix in 2020, but had never achieved the most privileged starting position until now.
