Italian Andy Diaz beat Portuguese Pedro Pablo Pichardo again today in the triple jump final of the Diamond League in Brussels, surpassing his rival also born in Cuba by 23 centimeters. The bronze medalist at Paris2024 and recent European champion won with 17.74 meters on his first attempt, while Pichardo, Olympic silver medalist in France and gold medalist at Tokyo2020, finished with 17.51 meters on his final attempt. Jamaican Jordan Scott took bronze. Andy Diaz had already beaten Pichardo recently, both at the World Championships in Budapest and at the European Championships in Rome.
