An Egyptian television presenter and her brother were sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Egypt. The sentence was handed down by the criminal court of Zagazig, in Sharkia province, in the Nile Delta.

The two siblings identified as Sara and Mohamed Jalifa were found guilty of leading a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking. The investigations revealed the "leading and central" role that both played in managing this network.

The death sentence applies to both siblings, who were also convicted of other crimes related to the trafficking of illicit substances. The case generated great media attention in Egypt due to the presenter's public status.
