The Portuguese Government, led by Luís Montenegro, announced that it will return to supporting agricultural diesel at a time when fuel prices are preparing for new increases. Luís Montenegro revealed that the measure is being finalized.
The support should recover the value that was in effect until June, meaning the Executive intends to restore the subsidy that was previously interrupted. This decision comes in response to the difficulties faced by the agricultural sector due to the constant increase in fuel costs.
For remaining consumers, the Government maintains the strategy based on the ISP (Excise Duty on Petroleum Products) discount, not foreseeing other direct fuel support measures for the general population.
