Back to school costs on average 580 euros per family in Portugal. This value represents a significant increase in the expenses that Portuguese families face at the start of each school year.
A study carried out by the consumerchoice organization reveals that Portuguese people are investing more and more resources at the beginning of the school year, reflecting the importance attributed to education and the materials needed for students.
To cover these education-related expenses, Portuguese families are making sacrifices in other areas. The study indicates that Portuguese people are cutting back on going to restaurants, leisure activities and holidays.
This situation highlights the financial pressure that many families face annually, forcing them to reduce spending in discretionary consumption sectors in order to ensure that their children have everything they need for the new school year.
