"Build the Wall": Tetris threatens to sue the White House

ZAP Notícias5 September 2026 at 13:00

The Tetris Company threatened to sue the White House after the Trump administration launched on Thursday an online game called "Build the Wall," which uses iconic images from the famous block-stacking game. The company that owns the Tetris rights clarified that it was not involved in the creation of the game and that it did not authorize or license its brand or intellectual property for this purpose.

The "Build the Wall" game includes instructions to "protect the border from the approaching horde," a direct reference to the Trump administration's immigration policies. The article mentions that someone reportedly said the White House "lost the plot" by creating this connection between the classic arcade game and the controversial immigration policy.

The Tetris Company informed AFP that it is "currently reviewing the matter," suggesting it may take legal action against the White House for unauthorized use of its intellectual property. The company did not comment on whether it has already sent a formal notification to the Trump administration.
