The United States issued an alert to its citizens advising against travel to the province of Niassa, in Mozambique, following an insurgent attack on a tourist camp.
The camp was associated with former Luso-Mozambican coach Carlos Queiroz. The attack resulted in the death of one person and the displacement of two thousand people from the region.
This measure by the American authorities comes as a direct response to the deterioration of security in that area of the country, where armed groups have intensified their operations.
