The United States Army attacked three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday, after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles against two American Navy warships patrolling the waters of the region. US Central Command (Centcom) reported on the attacks in a statement.
According to Centcom, an aircraft carrier and an American missile destroyer successfully dodged multiple Iranian attacks, and no US personnel were injured.
After the attacks, the US Army permanently disabled the IRGC oil tankers M/T Downy, off the coast of Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, and M/T Stark 1, near Jask, in the Gulf of Oman.
In addition, US forces completely destroyed the unladen oil tanker M/T Kylo, also known as 'Noxen', in the Gulf of Oman, striking the ship at multiple critical points to render it inoperative.
