Portugal achieved all targets set by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) in the Culture sector, having even surpassed several initially planned objectives. The country mobilized a total of 330.4 million euros for cultural initiatives under this plan.
The funds were destined for four main areas of intervention. The first area focused on the protection and enhancement of Portuguese cultural heritage, covering monuments and historic spaces of national importance.
The second area of investment was destined for the modernization of cultural facilities spread throughout the national territory. This modernization made it possible to improve the infrastructure available to the population and visitors.
The third area involved the digitization of collections, preserving important collections and documents for the country's historical memory. Finally, the fourth area focused on promoting access to Culture, ensuring that more citizens could benefit from the available cultural initiatives.
