Leitão Amaro dismisses Chega's motion: "A choreography without consequences"

SOL4 September 2026 at 16:10

The Minister of the Presidency, Leitão Amaro, criticized the motion presented by the Chega party, classifying it as "a choreography without consequences." The initiative of the party led by André Ventura was thus dismissed by the official, who refused to give greater importance to the document.

Leitão Amaro assured that Luís Montenegro's executive remains focused on work and that it does not have "preferred partners" for the State Budget negotiations. This position comes at a time when speculation was circulating about possible agreements with opposition parties for the Budget's approval.

The official also declined to comment on the controversies involving the Minister of Internal Administration, refusing to address the issue when questioned by journalists.

With this reaction, the executive demonstrates that it maintains its stance of not establishing formal commitments with extremist parties, opting for an independent governance strategy without preferential alignments in parliament.
