A tourist camp invested in by former Portuguese national team coach Carlos Queiroz was targeted in an attack that left one dead and two thousand displaced. The incident occurred in Mozambique, in one of the areas of Cabo Delgado where armed attacks have been spreading.
The United Nations has been warning about a significant increase in violence in that region since August of this year. The insecurity situation has forced thousands of people to abandon their homes in search of safety.
The tourist facility owned by Carlos Queiroz is located precisely in one of the areas affected by the wave of violence that has been plaguing Cabo Delgado. This attack represents another episode of instability that has characterized the region in recent months.
