Francisca Cadenas' husband and three children searched for her for almost nine years until, on March 11, the Guardia Civil found her corpse at the neighbors' house in Hornachos, Badajoz. The body was found dismembered and buried under the floor of the home of Julián and Manuel González, two brothers who are now in prison and accused of murder. According to the accusation, the two men caused Francisca Cadenas' death with "particular violence", inflicting "multiple perimortem injuries" through "unidentified blunt objects". The victim was a neighbor of the two accused brothers, which is believed to have facilitated the crime and the concealment of the body for almost a decade.
