The municipality of Tábua inaugurated a new Biomass Park, an infrastructure intended for the storage and treatment of forest residues. The main objective of this initiative is to reinforce fire prevention in the region, which is particularly vulnerable to forest fires during the driest months of the year.
The municipality of Tábua expressed the intention to expand the network of Biomass Parks in the municipality, foreseeing the installation of new equipment in different areas of the territory. This expansion aims to ensure broader coverage and facilitate access for forest owners to waste collection services.
The municipality intends, through this infrastructure, to encourage the population not to abandon forest residues, one of the main causes of rural fires. In parallel, the municipality hopes to dissuade citizens from carrying out controlled burnings without the proper precautions, thus reducing the risk of accidental occurrences.
This project is part of a broader strategy of territorial management and forest protection, recognizing that prevention involves not only direct firefighting, but also the creation of conditions that minimize the risk factors associated with the abandonment of plant materials and the practice of controlled burnings.
