The Municipality of Vendas Novas will prepare the "Biggest Bifana in the World", a product with 20 meters in length. The initiative promises to be a gastronomic milestone that highlights this specialty as culinary heritage of the region.
The bifana is made with well-beaten pork loin, fried in a secret sauce and served in a traditional toasted papo-seco bread roll. The recipe combines simple ingredients but results in a nationally recognized delicacy.
The specialty is a trademark registered by the Municipality of Vendas Novas since 2011, which demonstrates the local government's commitment to preserving and promoting this gastronomic tradition as a distinctive element of the municipality's identity.
