In 1985, six years before his death, Freddie Mercury took the stage at Rock in Rio as the main act of the first edition of the festival. The performance took place on January 11, with a repeat on January 18 of the same month. The event brought together crowds hungry for great shows.
More than 250,000 people watched the show each day the band performed at the festival. The setlist included recent hits and great classics from Queen's career, such as "I Want to Break Free," "We Will Rock You," and "We Are the Champions," which drew enthusiastic choruses from the audience present.
