World food prices at 4-year high. Stewing beef costs double

World food prices rose to their highest level since the end of 2022, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which released this information this Friday in Paris. This increase is mainly due to bad weather that affected harvests and military conflicts in various regions of the world.

The biggest concerns are concentrated in vegetable oils and sugar, which have recorded the largest increases. In supermarkets, the food basket continues to rise consistently, affecting consumers' daily lives.

The cost of stewing beef has more than doubled in just four years, representing one of the most dramatic examples of the overall increase in food prices. This situation reflects the combination of poor global harvests with political tensions affecting food production and distribution.
