The Association of Portuguese Wood and Furniture Industries (AIMMP) announced the completion of the participation of seven national companies at Saudi WoodShow 2026, which took place between September 1 and 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The participating companies were A. Freitas Barbosa, CW Floors, Douro Deck, Madeiras Afonso, Martos, TemaHome and X8 Solutions Group, which presented to the Saudi market solutions in flooring, cladding, sawn timber, furniture and upholstery.
The initiative took place under the Inter Wood & Furniture project, an internationalization program managed by AIMMP and integrated into the "Made in Portugal naturally" brand promotion strategy. The program is supported by EU funds from Compete 2030 and Portugal 2030, having already supported more than 400 companies through 195 actions in approximately 30 markets.
AIMMP president Vítor Poças highlighted that the presence at Saudi WoodShow allowed to show "in a market we consider strategic, the diversity and capacity of the Portuguese wood and furniture sector." According to the official, being directly in these markets, side by side with companies, is essential to give visibility to the national offer, create contacts and open doors to new business opportunities.
During the event, Vítor Poças was also a guest speaker at the seminar "Wood Reimagined: Building Saudi Arabia's Sustainable, Innovative, and Sovereign Timber Future," where he presented the association's new recycling project, called AIMMP CIRCULAR + MC. The Inter Wood & Furniture program contributed to the doubling of the sector's exports since 2010.
