Trump reiterates that Putin does not intend to attack NATO after drone incident in Germany

Now4 September 2026 at 21:54

On the night of August 4, a drone carrying explosives was discovered in the cargo operations area of Leipzig airport in Germany, near several Ukrainian cargo planes. A second device reportedly hit a DHL carrier plane shortly after.

The incident raises concerns about the security of European critical infrastructure and potential threats to logistical operations related to support for Ukraine.

Trump reiterated that Putin does not intend to attack NATO, a position he has been publicly defending, suggesting that the Russian president has no interest in escalating the conflict to involve the North Atlantic allied countries.
