The presiding judge of court number 2 in Amposta ordered this Friday the provisional custody, with communication and no bail, for Nizan's parents, Cristina S.C., 29, and Jesús A.R., 35, both arrested in Valencia by the National Police. Both are accused of the homicide of their son Nizan, an 18-month-old baby who was found dead in the family home on Major street in Santa Bàrbara, in Tarragona.
The newspaper Levante-EMV exclusively reported the couple's arrest. After the family's flight, the authorities managed to locate and arrest the parents in Valencia, where they were brought before the judge who ordered the harshest precautionary measure provided for under Spanish law.
The one-and-a-half-year-old baby was found lifeless in the family's residence in Santa Bàrbara, in the province of Tarragona. The circumstances of the death have not yet been fully clarified, but the judge considered the evidence presented by the prosecution sufficient to send both parents to provisional custody.
